Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited flood-affected areas in Kamareddy district, assuring that the government will provide full support and compensation to those impacted. Calling it the worst flood in nearly 100 years, the CM said officials had minimized loss of life by acting quickly and coordinating across departments. He personally inspected damaged roads, submerged colonies, and farmlands, while announcing immediate relief for affected families, including ₹11,500 compensation to 100 households in GR Colony.

The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a comprehensive flood damage assessment within five days, ensure compensation for farmers whose crops were destroyed, and provide financial aid to households and livestock owners who suffered losses. He emphasized permanent solutions to prevent future disasters, instructing authorities to prepare plans for rebuilding damaged bridges and exploring bridge-cum-barrage or check dam models. He also promised new housing under Indiramma Housing Scheme for families who lost their homes.

Revanth Reddy stressed that leaders must stand by people during crises, highlighting the swift efforts of ministers, MLAs, and local authorities who worked together with irrigation, revenue, police, and R&B departments to rescue and rehabilitate residents. He also announced that CSR funds from local industries would be mobilized to aid recovery and assured that Kamareddy’s development will be on par with Kodangal.

Accompanying ministers and senior leaders, including Sitakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, praised the coordinated response that saved hundreds of lives. Government advisor Shabbir Ali noted that over 300 people were rescued during flash floods, while local representatives expressed gratitude for the CM’s timely visit and promised long-term measures to prevent recurrence of such devastation.
