No Farmer Should Worry — Government Will Ensure Fair Price and Full Support”: CM Chandrababu

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that farmers across Andhra Pradesh receive fair prices for all crops without facing any financial loss or procurement hurdles. Reviewing the Agriculture and Civil Supplies Departments at the Secretariat, he instructed that paddy procurement and payments must happen smoothly without delays. The government has set a target to procure 50.75 lakh tonnes of paddy, requiring around ₹13,451 crore for payments. The Chief Minister stressed that the required funds should be coordinated with the Finance Department and directed that gunny bags be supplied to farmers immediately, especially in view of heavy rainfall alerts. He assured that the government stands firmly with farmers cultivating paddy, cotton, maize, and banana and will take timely measures to protect their interests.

During the meeting, Minister Achennaidu highlighted problems arising from new procurement guidelines issued by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI). Responding immediately, CM Naidu spoke directly to Union Textiles Secretary Neelam Rao, explaining the severe difficulties being faced by cotton farmers due to the new rules and sought urgent intervention. CM Naidu instructed continuous follow-up with the Centre through Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and MP Srikrishna Devarayalu. He also directed officials to conduct teleconferences with rice millers, traders, and exporters to resolve pricing and procurement issues. The Chief Minister emphasized proactive weather monitoring, early warnings to farmers, and necessary field-level support to prevent crop loss due to heavy rains.
